Welcome to The Greater Baytown Area

LEPC Website

On this website, you will find important information about the City of Baytown's emergency response procedures, as well as useful tips on how you and your family can prepare for both natural and man-made hazards.

The Greater Baytown Area Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) is a non-profit community organization composed of city and school district officials, police and fire emergency response personnel, industry and environmental representatives, news media, and interested citizens of Baytown, Texas.

While the LEPC's original goal was to educate the public and develop emergency plans concerning the release of toxic chemicals, recently the group's mission has expanded to include providing information to the public on a broad range of emergencies ranging from severe weather to terrorism.

The Greater Baytown Area LEPC meets on the third Tuesday of every month at noon at the Baytown Emergency Operations Center located at 205 E. Wye Drive, Baytown Texas. All meetings are open to the public. (Meetings are a "brown bag" lunch so bring your lunch with you and join us for the meeting!)

Thanks again for visiting our website!  If you have any questions, please contact the The Greater Baytown Area LEPC via e-mail or call us at 281-420-6556.
